The African United Methodist Church story began in 1989. It grew out of the desire by Liberians living in the United States to pray for and raise funds to support brothers and sisters in war torn Liberia. Under the stewardship of Rev. Daniel Gueh, the ministry grew from a prayer meeting and bible study group to a full church, recognized by the Southern New Jersey Conference of the United Methodist Church. On January 5, 1992, the church was officially named the African United Methodist Church.
We believe in the blessed Trinity—God the father, Son and the Holy spirit. We believe in the command to love God and love people. We believe that Jesus Christ is the fullest expression of God's love--showing us the fullness of God's care through Jesus' teachings, death and resurrection
